Patenaude MMA & Kickboxing
What does it cost?

The intro is $19.99 for a full group class. After that, memberships come as 3, 6 or 12-month plans with monthly payments. Depending on the plan and how often you train, it works out to roughly $20 a class on average. We give you exact numbers in person, because we'd rather you see what you're getting before we talk money.

What are the class times?

Kickboxing, MMA and grappling blocks run weeknight evenings Monday through Thursday, plus Saturday morning. The full timetable is posted further up this page. You can join any block at your level. There's no session start date to wait for.

I've never done martial arts. Can I still start?

Yes, and that describes most of the people who walk through our door. No experience, no fitness baseline, no flexibility required. We've been teaching people from zero for fifty years. We know how to do it.

What's the minimum age?

Our kickboxing and MMA programs start at age 8. Groups are split into 8-12, then 13 and up with adults. Our oldest member is 70.

Am I going to get hit or hurt?

Not in your first class, and not after that until you decide otherwise. Contact is progressive, supervised, and always optional outside the competition team. We work technique, conditioning and movement long before anyone talks about sparring.

Do I need equipment?

Not for the intro: we provide everything. Come in shorts or loose pants, a t-shirt, and bring water. We train barefoot. If you continue, we'll advise you on gear at the right moment, without selling you the whole shop on day one.

Do I have to compete?

No. Around 80% of our members never step into a cage or a ring. The Fight Team is a separate program, by invitation and after evaluation. You can train here for ten years and never compete.

Where exactly are you?

306 Notre-Dame Street in Gatineau. There's parking on site and we're an easy drive from Ottawa.
